We think connecting with your church family is so important. There are many ways to get connected in many groups - that's what helps Calvary feel like a "small" big church. Check out a few adult ministries below.
Thursday mornings during the school year, from 9-10 am, Calvary hosts a Bible study/prayer group geared for women with children (especially young children).
We gather in Room 10 and enjoy Bible study over coffee and tea.
Nursery is available for those with little ones. Women of all ages are welcome, come as you are able!
Every Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. a group of Calvary men (and a pastor!) meet at Perkins to discuss that weeks lectionary readings and how they tie into the world around us. All are welcome! No need to sign up, simply show up.
We come together for study, support and action. We participate in the ministry of Women of the ELCA. Participation gives us an opportunity to gather for fellowship and to learn and share; opportunities to join with other women for Bible study, reflection and prayer that offers us the quiet moments to give ourselves over to God, to place ourselves in God’s hands; opportunities to serve, explore and to share the gifts God has given us. We meet the first Tuesday of the month at 1:00 pm.
Do you like to watch movies? Do you like to find God in unexpected places? This group watches a contemporary movie, everything from dramas, action, sci-fi and more! We will then discuss how God speaks to us through the story, characters and dialogue in the movie! Contact Aaron Bye or call the church office to find out what movie we will watch this month! Popcorn is provided and and the nursery will be available if requested! This group is geared to adults ages 18+.
On the 4th Thursday of the month a group of men get a lunch and gather in Holy Grounds Coffeehouse for a Bible Study. From 11:30 am to 12:50 pm they gather to listen, learn and grow together in community.
Holy Grounds is Calvary’s coffee house. It is a place of welcome, warmth, fellowship and conversation.
Do you like to cook? Have a favorite dish to make? Like to try new recipes? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please consider signing up to be on the hospitality meal team which provides meals for new moms, those in cancer treatment, grief or could just use a hand.
Sharing a meal after a funeral gives people a chance to remember their loved ones together. Meals are set up and served in the Fellowship Hall after funerals. People also prepare food such as salads, hot dish and “bars” to be served. Contact the church office (701-772-4897) to volunteer, serve, or to bring food for this important ministry.
