This is a ministry of Calvary designed for anyone living with Alzheimer’s Disease or other Dementia and their spouse/family caregiver may come to socialize, enjoy refreshments, learn from experts on the disease, ask questions, and be with others who are going through the same thing in a relaxed open house atmosphere. Look for this opportunity on the second Tuesday of the month at 1:00, September-May.
The Unforgettables Choir brings together people with Dementia and their care partners to sing in a choir that fosters joy, well-being, purpose and community understanding. Social time before and after each rehearsal helps people with Dementia and their care parters form new friendships at a time when they are often becoming more isolated.
The Wednesday morning coffee group meets every Wednesday morning at 10 am for coffee, fellowship and prayer. Attendees take turns bringing treats and the group is faithful in praying for those in need. New people are always welcome. Join us anytime!
The knit and crochet group meets one Saturday morning per month to work on prayer shawls or their own projects, get patterns, ask questions or give ideas. Beginners welcome! Patient teacher and supplies available for knitting or crocheting. All are welcome.
The quilting group meets the last Tuesday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The quilts make a difference worldwide in partnership with Lutheran World Relief. The group has a potluck lunch together on quilting days.
Prayers shawls are given to those who are struggling with life’s challenges. The shawls are prayed over while they are being made and they are prayed over by the Wednesday Morning Coffee group before they are given away.= All skill levels welcome!
The prayer chain cares for the congregation and the community through diligent prayer. This volunteer group of Calvary members actively pray for known prayer concerns.
Calvary pastors and our parish nurse are happy to call and visit those at home, in nursing homes, transitional care and in the hospital. Let us know how you are so we can be helpful. Contact them through the church office.
