We will be hosting a Polka Worship & Picnic on Wednesday, August 20 at 5:30-7:30pm featuring the Polka Band from Sons of Norway in Fargo. They will play Polka Hymns for the worship service and after worship they will play a 45 minute to one hour musical set. We plan to do this outside in the South Parking Lot or indoors if it rains. We will be grilling burgers and hot dogs, with sides and drinks. A free will offering will be taken. This event is open to all!

Calvary’s It Takes A Village Ministry is helping Lewis & Clark Elementary students to FLOAT INTO SUMMER! Can you help?
Calvary had a blast serving root beer floats and celebrating the end of their school year! We have learned so much about the students learning at our closest neighborhood school over the year. With that learning came the idea to send the students home with a few books each to help keep up the excitement of reading through the summer months.
While we work to meet the physical needs of the students through our monthly backpack program, we also want to help them meet their learning goals. We are looking to you to help us fill baskets of books that the students will get to select in their last days of school.
Donate a book or two any time between now and May 10. Books must be new or like new and appropriate for children ages 5-12. Please, no board books, books with sounds, or moving parts. We also ask that there are no marks or writing in the books. Check out the registries by clicking the orange button.
When children have a home library, as little as 20 books of their own, they achieve three more years of schooling than children who don't have books at home.
Thank you all for your help this year with this ministry!

You have to go to school for many years in order to qualify for most jobs in America. We act as if everybody is born knowing how to be a part of a family and worship God! Families come in all shapes and sizes. Learn to establish daily practices that keep God at the center of your family. Ideally, this class is attended by the student and a guardian.

The Bible is an amazing collection of books. Some are stories, poetry, history, and letters. But they all point to Jesus! Learn how surprising God's Word can be!

We will take a look at the Apostles' Creed, each article of the Creed, and its goal of unifying the body of Christ. In other words, we will explore the question "what do we believe and why?" We will move to the Ten Commandments, the list God gave us to help us live in harmony with others and with God.

Baptism & Communion are outward signs of the inward grace we have received but cannot earn. God comes to us through the sacraments and prayer. We will explore the prayer Jesus taught us and how we can build a relationship with God through prayer.

As we continue to navigate staffing and transitions, we wanted to share an update regarding the Volunteer Coordinator position. At this time, we are taking a pause on hiring for this role. Pastor Rachael will be working with staff and congregational leadership to review our current needs, update the job description, and determine next steps. More information will be shared in the coming months.
This pause also means that we do not yet have a long-range plan in place for the Coffee Shop. During this transitional time, the Coffee Shop will be staffed as we are able and may occasionally be closed on Sunday mornings. We recognize this is not ideal as many cherish the fun and special coffee choices that space provides as part of our Sunday morning life together.
We look forward to establishing a more permanent plan in the months ahead. In the meantime, if you have a heart for hospitality and would like to offer your time and care to help with the Coffee Shop ministry, please reach out to Pastor Rachael or Julie.
Students identified as food insecure get assistance for lunch during the week, but what happens to those same students over the weekend? For that, we have the backpack program.
Calvary gets food items and packs the items on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm. Backpacks will be brought to the school, and during the school year, eligible students will receive food for the weekends.
In backpacks students will get:
2 breakfast items
2 lunch items
2 fruit items
2 snack items
2 juice boxes
EXAMPLES
Ramen noodles - chicken
Soup or noodle cups
Mac and cheese cups
Cans of chicken noodle soup
Instant oatmeal packets
Fruit cups/applesauce
Individually packed snack items not containing nuts like:
•fruit snacks, goldfish crackers, granola bars, oreo packs, etc.
Juice boxes (100% juice)
It costs around $100 to feed 1 child for the school year. We would love for you to
consider sponsoring 1 or more children for the 2025-2026 school year to provide
weekend food but any and all donations helps to make this program work.
Starting August 1 , donation station tables will be placed outside each worship
space or you can drop items off at the front office during the week.
Sign up to be on the backpack packing team by clicking the button below.
