Traditional Worship is grounded in Word and Sacrament, family friendly, and formed in the traditional language and liturgies of Lutheran worship.
Our goal is for these services to be built on the strong foundation of our rich traditions of worship in a way that is lively, imaginative, and deep with meaning for contemporary life. Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday and is received by intinction primarily and at the rail on the first of the month.
Hymns are accompanied by organ or piano, and musical offerings are provided by the Calvary Choir, the Handbell Choir, and Calvary and community members who wish to share their gifts in praise to God.
Enjoy fellowship in the Narthex and Holy Grounds Coffeehouse before and after each service.
Lay people are invited to participation in leadership of our traditional worship by serving as a prayer minister, liturgist, reader or communion server. If you are interested in serving in any of these ways, please contact Pastor Kirk.
We offer a worship service on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. from September through May. The style and tone of the service is warm, lively and informal, making use of screens for visual media, while still incorporating all the key components of traditional Lutheran worship. A diverse selection of worship music includes hymns, folk, gospel, contemporary songs, and international worship songs, intended to engage all generations. We are led in our worship by piano and guitar, along with other acoustic instrumentation. It is paired with Wednesday School so education students begin in worship with their families.

Contemporary worship at Calvary is held in the Fellowship Hall at the South end of the building. It is casual, family friendly, and grounded in Word and Sacrament. We celebrate Holy Communion each week, gather around the font to remember our Baptisms, and listen to the Good News as it is proclaimed boldly. A live praise band leads us in the singing of popular contemporary Christian music of today and different members of our congregation rotate each week to assist in worship leadership. Come worship with us…and enjoy your coffee too!
This ensemble learns music for worship while also participating as leaders of the peoples' songs on Sunday Morning. They also perform in special services seasonally throughout the year.
Grow musically and have fun!
Handbells are a unique instrument and we are lucky to have many octaves here at Calvary! Reading music is not required, but can be really helpful. Come and check out this group.
Sharing the gifts God has given you is an act of stewardship. We would love for you to share your music with the congregation as we worship God together!
We hear scripture in worship each week. Do you have a clear speaking voice? Volunteer your gift and sign up to be a scripture reader.
Welcome people to worship - maybe even help them find the coffee!
Volunteer alongside the pastor to serve the sacrament of Holy Communion.
Drop by the church office for a visit if you're out and about!
